The BRfm Unsigned Team
Craig Evans - Presenter
Bass player with Welsh rock outfit Blackwaters and pop/punk covers band Neveready. I've been involved with unsigned music and covers bands since I was 16 so a career of almost 13 years and my passion for it has just grown and grown. I started the show after a discussion with Sian Jennifer Smith, Editor of on-line music magazine Rocking Music and presenter of the Rocking Music show on BRfm. I subsequently trained with her and the show was born! My aim is to try and do my bit to help resurrect a slowly dying original band scene and to make people realise they don't need to pay £30 and go to a huge arena to see quality live music!
Jamie Dykes - Critic & Co-Presenter
Aspiring guitarist since adolescence with a very good ear for a good sound. Regardless of music genre, band/artist I will give anything a listen and ain't worried about giving an honest opinion. At the end of 2011 Craig gave me a text and asked if I wouldl help out with the show due to the growing popularity from unsigned bands across the UK and abroad, the rest is as they say is history. My music taste varies from Classical, The Blues, Rock 'n' Roll, Punk and everything inbetween.
Have I ever been in a band? No. Will I ever be in a band? Possibly. What can I offer to unsigned music? An honest opinion and a chance to be heard.
Kevin Lal - Critic & Co-Presenter
Music enthusiast from Kent, England born and raised before moving to South Wales. Bass Player for Moments Before Oblivion and guitarist in my own time. Very open minded when it comes to music, grew up with a family who loved their soul music, blues and RnB. Two tone, ska and reggae also a very big part of my childhood. Then I was introduced to the world of rock and metal, opened my eyes to a new world and fuelled my passion for music. So many gigs I have been to, all genres and a wide experience gained from this. Since joining Moments Before Oblivion we have gigged all over South Wales and recently started to gig England. Music is my passion, my life and will make sure I use this in my efforts to help people in the music industry.
